Dance With Me Baby is run by Alison Frith - I'm a mum of three young children (all of whom I wore in my trusty Ergo carrier when they were babies) and I love to dance! I am a big advocate of babywearing - the comfort, security and bonding it provides your baby along with the ability to be hands-free and still do the things you need to do on a daily basis, meant my baby carrier was such a valuable tool for me personally while my children were small. And I spent countless hours dancing around my lounge with an unsettled little one in the carrier - it was always a sure-fire way to lift my mood, and almost always did the same for my baby (and often sent them off to sleep, which was a frequent goal!) If a class like Dance With Me Baby had existed when I was at that stage with my children, I definitely would have been keen to join... so I hope there are some others of you out there like me that are keen to come along and give it a go! Prior to a career in the corporate world, I taught dance classes and choreographed a number of school and university productions and since becoming a mum myself, it has been something I have reconnected with. l also feel strongly about maternal mental health, and really felt passionate about creating opportunities within my community for mums (and dads!) to come together with their children and form relationships, whilst doing something fun and beneficial for their little ones. |
Alison FrithIn 2016 I started Tiny Boppers - music + movement classes for babies and toddlers, and I really enjoy working with children and their caregivers. I see first-hand the joy, and bonding & fun that comes from exploring music and movement with infants (on top of all the developmental and cognitive benefits)...so for me, teaching babywearing dance classes was a natural addition to the classes I run.
